Who Am I?
I’m your everyday, average Joe from BFE, Michigan. I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. I’ve dedicated the first four years of my career to serving as an Aeronautical Engineer in the United States Air Force. Yeah, I kicked ass and took names in the military – to the tune of contributing over $100,000 to retirement in my first 5 working years (my salary is public knowledge, feel free to look it up: O-1, O-2, and O-3). And, I saved over $100,000 for a house in those same 5 working years. No, it’s NOT EASY (insert your mom joke here).
I couldn’t have traveled the world while saving this much, right? Well, in 2016 I visited:
- Sydney, Australia
- Vancouver & Banff, Canada
- Seattle, Washington
- All Over, California (Monterey, Big Sur, Palm Springs, San Diego, Los Angeles)
- Las Vegas, Nevada
And, I even made a stop at the Grand Canyon on a drive across the United States.
I love playing all sports, destroying my friends in fantasy football, and I work a fairly typical 9-5. No, I don’t have a nice car. Yes, I have roommates. No, I don’t drink daily lattes or caramel apple spices. I’ll tell you what I do have: a written down plan, discipline, and concrete goals with action steps. You have a lifestyle and I don’t want to change it, because that’s not my intention. My goal is simple, yet so very difficult. My goal is to make your life better, not worse. Go ahead and repeat after me: “What’s the fucking secret?”
Well, I love to read, learn, and pursue 100 different things to keep me busy…along with doing those dirty P and B words (plan and budget). I’ve invested tons and tons and tons of my time into reading, learning and DOING what I’m going to share with you. If you think you’re ready… I will ask you to follow my not-so-secret secret: write down your plan and have the discipline to improve yourself and your plan for 12+ months. Let my blog help be your guide when you need a hand.
